About STRATA — The Daily Ranking Puzzle

STRATA is a daily puzzle. You get five items and one hidden way to rank them. Most people finish in under two minutes.

Why STRATA exists

Wordle and Connections showed that a short daily puzzle can become part of someone's morning. STRATA is in that same family, but it's about ranking instead of guessing.

The items you see each day are usually things you already know. The puzzle is figuring out the order. How big, how old, how fast, how far. You're testing your gut more than your memory.

How it works under the hood

A new puzzle goes live every day at midnight UTC. Each one is drafted with help from an AI, then fact-checked against trusted sources before it ships. Categories rotate across thirteen subjects: geography, biology, history, science, food, language, culture, sports, tech, music, literature, art, and everyday life.

We avoid anything where the facts shift or depend on who you ask. No "best movie of 2019", no current stock prices, no medal counts. If you finished high school and have a rough sense of scale, you can solve it.

What's free, and why

The daily puzzle is free. No account, no ads, no paywall. We don't sell data either.

If you sign in, you get the archive (past puzzles for practice), your stats, leaderboards, and a few color themes. That's the trade for your email.

The site runs on Cloudflare for almost nothing, so there's no real pressure to monetize it.

Where STRATA fits in your morning

That's the whole thing. We're not trying to build anything bigger.
